All prospective applicants must first submit a Project Proposal. This Project Proposal is NOT the same thing as a Grant Application. A Grant Application is sent by post only in response to a Project Proposal that has been properly submitted, reviewed and judged to fall within our funding guidelines. In other words, a Project Proposal is a solicitation for a Grant Application. If the project you propose appears to qualify for funding, then you will be invited to apply formally for a grant.
A project proposal must answer the following questions and address the following topics:
1. What is the name of the project and of the organization or agency affiliated with the project? 2. What is the address of the project? (Include country) 3. How does this project help to relieve the suffering of the poor?
4. Name the sisters who are directly involved with the project and name their congregations. 5. Describe the services each sister provides and indicate the number of hours she devotes to the project each week.
Financial Information (in U.S. dollars)
6. Itemize income and expenses of the entire project for the previous fiscal year. 7. Provide an itemized budget that estimates income and expenses for the current fiscal year or, if the project is new, for its first full year of operation.
8. Indicate the total amount of your request. 9. List the cost of the items you plan to purchase and the services that will be covered using these funds.
10. Give the mailing address, fax number and email address to which all correspondence concerning this Project Proposal should be sent.
The Project Proposal may be faxed or emailed, although please review the protocol at Contact Us before doing so. Alternatively, you may use the Online Project Proposal Form. However, you do not need to use a special form to solicit a Grant Application. You need only to follow the instructions above. The Online Project Proposal form is simply a tool to help prospective applicants to organize the information for which we ask.
You should consider keeping copies of all information that you send to us at the Project Proposal stage since you will be asked to provide much of the same information if you are invited to submit a Grant Application.
Please be aware that even though a Project Proposal may be faxed or emailed, you must return a Grant Application by post.
