UPDATE ON HAITI EARTHQUAKE, LITTLE SISTERS OF ST. THERESE
AND LINKS TO PARTNERS OFFERING ASSISTANCE

(As of January 19, 2010)

The Motherhouse of the Little Sisters of St. Therese in Port-au-Prince has significant damage.

The school and the guesthouse totally collapsed. They fear about 100 children are buried in the school building collapse. They pulled out 25-30 children, some living and some not.  The Motherhouse building used to be a two-story building and is now one-story.

Although two of the sisters died in Port-au-Prince, no sister died at the Motherhouse.  Everyone is sleeping outside, and food and water are needed.  They are also in desperate need of engineers and heavy equipment to move the tons of concrete that is making it very difficult to move around the area. Please keep all the people of Haiti in your prayers.

The Loretto Special Needs Fund will be sending a donation to help the people of Haiti.
